YEREVAN. – Russian president’s visit to Armenia in fact proved Armenian authorities’ readiness to do everything to preserve power, chairman of National Accord party said.
Aram Harutyunyan noted that the authorities have no legitimacy inside the country and they must look for it outside. And the question how strong the external force is will always exert pressure on the country.
“For me, a citizen of Armenia, it is unpleasant to see how our authorities flattered Vladimir Putin and applauded to his statement that that Russia is not going to leave the Caucasus. Even in Soviet times, our secretaries of the Communist Party or party members were not flattering Brezhnev or Khrushchev in such a manner Both the first and second presidents of Armenia behaved with dignity,” Harutyunyan said.
The politician said that the mission of the present generation is to preserve Armenia’s independence. The state is in danger, as the current president is not acting in the interests of Armenian people and “is carrying out a policy of casino.”
“And now Armenia is at stake,” he emphasized.
