YEREVAN. – The delegation headed by Armenian Education Minister Armen Ashotyan visited Comenius University in Bratislava during their official visit to Slovakia.

Minister Ashotyan stressed that during his visit an agreement to expand the scientific and educational cooperation has been reached, adding that the university can collaborate with Armenian universities on medicine and humanitarian area.

The Minister outlined the history of the Armenian people and its role in the development of world civilization, presenting the main challenges Armenia is faced with in the context of contemporary geopolitical developments and the role of education.

Armen Ashotyan touched upon the possibilities of expanding Armenian-Slovakian scientific and educational cooperation in the framework of the Bologna process. He answered the questions of students about the political life of Armenia, the quality of education, labor and educational migration, social protection of students and other topics.

As to problems of the Armenian community, Minister Ashotyan promised to support the initiative of opening an Armenian school in Bratislava, where Armenian language, history and culture will be taught. He stressed that the Ministry of Education and Science is ready to provide textbooks and manuals, as well as conduct trainings for teachers.
