YEREVAN. – Sixty-nine percent of respondents of Global Corruption Barometer - 2013 survey conducted in Armenia believe that the judicial system is corrupt or extremely corrupt in the country. This is mentioned in the report published by Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan on Monday.
According to the report, 18% of respondents named the facts of giving bribes to judges.
“The survey shows that Armenia is the only country where more than half of respondents are unwilling to resort to any action in order to figh against corruption. The main reason for not raising issues related to corruption is explained by the fact that such cases will not bring any changes because there is mistrust in relation to the laws and their application,” the report says.
