YEREVAN. – ARF Dashnaktsutyun will hold a march against pension reform on December 17, head of ARF parliamentary faction Artsvik Minasyan told reporters.
He recalled that non-coalition forces, namely ARF, Heritage, Prosperous Armenia and Armenian National Congress, had collected 32 signatures to petition to the Constitutional Court.
Minasyan said the law needs to be postponed and improved. In finalizing the text, the deputies expect active participation of society.
“We have already collected 32 signatures, although not all parliamentarians supporting the measure have signed the petition yet. But we envisage actions in the wider format. We will march against pension reform on December 17, and the action may develop into a rally,” he said.
New cumulative pension system will come into effect starting from January 1, 2014. The reform has caused concerns of citizens in connection with pension payments (from 5% to 10%), as well as doubts about the safety of money in private funds.
