YEREVAN. – Latvia’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Elita Gavele (diplomatic residence in Tbilisi Georgia), on Wednesday presented her credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan. 

Sargsyan congratulated the ambassador on her appointment, wished her success, and expressed the hope that during her diplomatic mission in Armenia she would do her utmost to strengthen relations between Armenia and Latvia.   

At the ensuing talk they underscored the Armenian-Latvian cooperation.

On behalf of her country, Ambassador Gavele expressed willingness to cooperate with Armenia also during Latvia’s EU chairmanship in the first half of 2015, and to assist Armenia, if needed.   

The interlocutors discussed the avenues for invigorating political dialogue and developing cooperation between Armenia and Latvia in several domains of mutual interest.

In addition, the President of Armenia and the ambassador of Latvia exchanged views on regional matters.
