Chairman of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan held a meeting April 7 with EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.

The ANC office informed NEWS.am that the sides discussed the Armenia-EU cooperation, Armenian-Turkish reconciliation and Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. The sides also discussed the democracy and human rights situation in Armenia, particularly the issue of releasing political prisoners in Armenia. Ter-Petrosyan pointed out that political prisoners, violations of human rights and corruption seriously impede the accomplishment of major foreign policy tasks facing Armenia.
