YEREVAN. – Armenia, which has not signed the European Union (EU) Association Agreement, is still engaged in the EU Eastern Partnership.   

German Ambassador to Armenia, Reiner Morell, stated the above-said at Thursday’s international conference held in capital city Yerevan. 

“We recall that, on September 3, Armenia announced its plan to join the [Russian-led] Customs Union. From this standpoint, we can say that Armenia and Belarus have similar trends,” Morell noted

He stressed, however, that Belarus is far from signing any document with the EU.

The German diplomat added that Azerbaijan likewise is far from signing any document with the European Union.
