YEREVAN. – Armenia should not hurry to sign any documents, member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) believes.

Speaking during a conference on European integration, Vladimir Karapetyan said the current situation is a result of inconsistent policy of Armenian authorities.

“Armenian public was not provided with relevant information on the text of Association Agreement, and they could not express support for this document,” he noted.

Vladimir Putin’s surprise at Armenia’s readiness to sign papers on Customs Union, that he clearly expressed during his Yerevan visit, meant that “the authorities are not holding any talks in order to protect interests of our country, but are signing any documents they are being offered”, Karapetyan emphasized.

“European Integration 2013: EU-Armenia Relations Perspective after the EaP Vilnius Summit” conference is being held in Yerevan.
