YEREVAN. – Armenia is not interested in being involved in controversies by having good relations and partnership with both EU and Russia, MP Artak Zakaryan said.

Zakaryan, member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, said in some circumstances Moldova appears in such situation, Georgia in most cases is using this platform for relevant criticism.

“When Armenia initiated the process of normalization of Armenian- Turkish relations, it had certain political expectations from the EU, too. The European Union is guided by practical interests, and we understand and appreciate this. I do not blame either Russia or the EU or even those EU countries that free Ramil Safarov to yield practical benefits,” he emphasized.  

The MP added that each country is acting in terms of its interests, and Armenia should do the same.

“We do not want to be embroiled in the struggle. It is not our struggle. We want to be on the platforms that give us an opportunity to find peaceful solutions to existing conflicts. Many of our partners in the practical political circles understand what Armenia needs and contribute to this particular policy,” he resumed.
