YEREVAN. – Armenian president is positive about pension reform approved by the parliament earlier this week.

Serzh Sargsyan touched upon the recent reforms during his visit to the Ministry of Economy on Friday. President said that he personally was engaged in these problems and held numerous discussions, including those with the heads of at least four parliamentary factions.

“I listen to different opinions regarding pension reform every day. They can be divided into political and expert assessments. I would like to call on all those who deem the reforms useful to be more active,” President said.

Sargsyan said the reform is carried out for social welfare of the elderly, adding that “it is time to apologize to these people.”
