YEREVAN. – The upgrading project of Armenia’s Bagratashen, Bavra and Gogavan border checkpoints is at the construction phase. 

State Revenue Committee (SRC) Chairman Gagik Khachatryan stated the aforementioned Friday, during the session convened by the SRC and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), informs the SRC Information and Public Relations Department.    

Khachatryan added that the conceptual designs for the three border crossings are approved and some construction work has already been done.    

The objective of this project is to introduce in Armenia modern-day integrated border management systems that meet European standards. The €60.6-million project is funded by the European Union grants and several other credit facilities. The project is implemented by the UNDP Office and, on behalf of the Government of Armenia, the State Revenue Committee coordinates the respective activities.
