YEREVAN. – Armenian President’s Serzh Sargsyan’s father, Azat Sargsyan, who passed away on Monday, was living in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic capital city Stepanakert, together with his wife, Nora.

On October 10, Yerkir.am had published an interview with Azat and Nora Sargsyan, who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

During the interview, Ms. Nora had informed that, earlier, her husband had been in an Armenian capital city Yerevan hospital.

To the query as to why they do not move to Yerevan, Ms. Nora had responded: “I was born here; I can’t live anywhere else.”

To the reporter’s question as to why the Armenian President’s parents do not have bodyguards and their home is not kept under surveillance, Ms. Nora had responded: “What have we done to anyone? We are an ordinary working-class family; I was a weaver, my husband, a blacksmith. We worked hand in hand, we raised three children. God bless them! Now, they are helping us.”

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s father, Azat Sargsyan, passed away on Monday in Stepanakert, at 84 years of age.
