YEREVAN.  – Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian on Monday received OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov, Jacques Faure and James Warlick and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Personal Representative, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.

They continued discussion of the efforts aimed at advancing peace process that started during the Vienna meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents and was followed by the meeting of foreign ministers in Kyiv.

Armenian FM drew co-chairs’ attention to the death of Armenian solider who was killed as a result of fire of Azerbaijani side on December 14.

The Minister emphasized that despite the Minsk Group co-chairing states’ repeated calls to respect ceasefire, permanent cases of ceasefire violation by Azerbaijan are registered on Armenia-Azerbaijan border and line of contact between Azerbaijan and Karabakh. He noted that ceasefire violation cases bring to deaths not only soldiers, but civilians.

Minister Nalbandian said such provocations prevent the efforts of Co-Chairs and Armenia for peaceful resolution of the conflict.

During the meeting, the possibility to organize a meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in early 2013 was discussed.
