YEREVAN. – Armenian government decided to sell Armenia’s gas assets without informing anyone, Secretary of the Armenian National Congress Aram Manukyan said during the Friday hearings in parliament.
Aram Manukyan said the ruling majority in parliament is going to vote for the agreement, although they are unaware of the details of the negotiations with Russia.
He noted that since 2008, the price of gas rose five times. Besides, the government never said it intends to repay the debt by selling 20 percent of ArmRusgasprom shares, he said.
“In Russia, the average gas price is $122. Then it makes $189 on the border. If the transportation costs of 500 thousand kilometers are worth $189, how the price can increase to $210 only in 50 kilometers? You cannot justify the pricing,” Manukyan emphasized.
