YEREVAN. – “Over the course of decades, the security agencies have gone through serious ordeals, they have strengthened at visible and invisible fronts, they have formed traditions, and they have accumulated a valuable knowhow.”

The aforesaid is noted in Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s congratulatory message issued on the security agency worker’s day, which is observed on December 20.

“Dear workers of the national security agencies of Armenia: The intelligence and the counterintelligence agencies were formed 95 years ago, after the proclamation of the First Republic of Armenia.

“You have greatly contributed to the neutralization of the threats against our state and society. All prerequisites for professional development and improvement of your work exist today.

“The new realities and challenges of the modern world and of our region must have an adequate response,” President Sargsyan’s message also states.
