YEREVAN. – Armenia will allocate around $22,000 (AMD 10.1 million) for implementation of UNDP’s Aid for Trade program, the government decided on Thursday.

Economy Minister Vahram Avanesyan said the program is a part of UNDP project “Aid for Trade for Central Asia, South Caucasus, and Western CIS”. Ten percent of the program will be supported by the government.

Aid For Trade project was implemented in Tavush region of Armenia in 2012-2013. More than 150 clients received specialized trainings on business planning, agro-processing, agro-marketing, dried fruit production technologies, and greenhouse technologies. Fourteen dried fruit producers received fruit drying equipment. Twenty-nine households received 120m square meter greenhouses with drip irrigation and high quality vegetable seedlings.
