YEREVAN. – Harutyun Sargsyan has been appointed Governor of Vayots Dzor Region of Armenia.
The respective decision was made at Thursday’s Cabinet session.
Just like his predecessor and all of the country’s other regional governors, Sargsyan is a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
“I believe the government’s expectations will be justified [with this appointment], and the economic and social programs will continue in this region,” Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan specifically stated at the Cabinet meeting.
On October 23, Edgar Ghazaryan had resigned from his position as the Governor of Vayots Dzor Region, and he was appointed Armenia’s Ambassador to Poland.
