YEREVAN. – The 39th Congress of the Communist Party of Armenia (CPA) will be convened soon, CPA Central Committee First Secretary Tachat Sargsyan stated at a press conference on Wednesday.

In his words, this convention will be a great event in the party history.    

“Before the congress [, however], annual conferences and meetings were held, in which all members of the Bureau of the Communist Party of Armenia participated,” Sargsyan noted. 

And reflecting on the constitutional reforms that are proposed in Armenia, the CPA Central Committee first secretary stressed: “We are against these reforms. We believe that the constitutional reforms have but one objective: the reproduction of the [ruling] power.”
