YEREVAN. – The first video recording on the downed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Air Force helicopter, and which Azerbaijan disseminated just hours after the incident, actually was filmed during the Syrian War, media expert Samvel Martirosyan said at a press conference on Saturday.
After this incident, as per the media expert, Azerbaijan was unable to immediately coordinate the activities.
“Due to non-coordination, statements were disseminated on the Internet one after the other. It was written in a paragraph that the helicopter had attacked, whereas in the other [paragraph it] was written [that] it was preparing to attack.
“It was only [after] coordinating the activities that the video showing the real incident appeared on the Internet,” Martirosyan said.
The media expert also informed that numerous news sites in Armenia were subjected to cyber-attacks in recent days.
“Once the situation aggravates, the Azerbaijani side attempts to hinder the work of the state and news media, so they will be unable to carry out a respective campaign,” he added.
In Samvel Martirosyan’s view, the Armenian media have worked well in covering the recent events.
“First, it’s important that a hysteria did not start. The other important fact is that the media began giving the information by verifying it,” the media expert stated.
