YEREVAN. - Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of Defense David Tonoyan has met with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Personal Representative Andrzej Kasprzyk, Armenian News - NEWS.am reports.

According to the Defense Ministry Spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan, during the meeting Armenia’s MOD deputy minister stressed the importance of conducting monitoring in the area where Armenian helicopter has been shot.

“We need to clarify the fate of the pilots and to complete necessary actions,” MOD official mentioned during the meeting with OSCE envoy. “Earlier, Karabakh has appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross mission in Karabakh, however, so far no response has been received from the International Committee of the Red Cross.”

The Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire and shot down a Karabakh helicopter MI-24 carrying a training flight. Moreover, the Azerbaijani side continued the fire on the already crashed helicopter to prevent the Karabakh side from providing help to the people inside the helicopter. The incident has been already condemned by the co-chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group, the Armenian Foreign Ministry, representatives of the EU and the UN.
