YEREVAN. – There is no political or military sense in the shooting by the Azerbaijani side. Caucasus Institute Director, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan stated the above-said at a press conference on Tuesday. He noted this with respect to the Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ recent downing of a Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Air Force helicopter.

In his words, everyone initially becomes resentful during each incident on the border, but, subsequently, a jointly working mechanism is “switched on.”

“And [, as a result,] everything is done to return the situation [back] to the relative status quo,” Iskandaryan noted.

In his conviction, no shots by snipers, infiltration by saboteurs, or destruction of aircrafts can lead to a military success.

“Azerbaijan has very few tools to have an impact on the situation. They can’t achieve anything through the army and the lobbying,” the analyst concluded.
