YEREVAN. – Mher Petrosyan, who is accused of attempted murder and is the son of ruling Republican Party of Armenia former MP Rafik Petrosyan, has been taken into custody. The Investigative Committee of Armenia press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that, on Monday evening, the court granted the respective motion which the investigator had submitted.

Petrosyan has been charged under the Criminal Code.

According to the Investigative Committee, on February 6, Mher Petrosyan had gone to an office belonging to Oseb Markaryan. Subsequently, an argument had started around paying back a loan, during which Petrosyan took out an illegal handgun and shot at Markaryan, who sustained injuries. But, according to the investigation, Mher Petrosyan was unable to “finish” crime, as those in the office had rendered him ineffective.
