The United States (US) is planning to develop cooperation with Armenia in the military and security domains. 

The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Eric Rubin, stated about the aforementioned.

Rubin also noted that a Russian military presence in Armenia should restrain neither the Armenian nor the American sides from making their bilateral cooperation grow deeper.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State added that Armenia and the South Caucasus, in general, are very close to the world’s most dangerous areas.

In his words, the US and Armenia envision not solely to deepen cooperation in security and defense, but to implement new bilateral programs within this framework.  

And commenting on the presence of Russian troops in Armenia, Eric Rubin said this does not constrain the US, and added that this Russian military presence is a reality conditioned on the current situation in Armenia.
