Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, not wishing to become a Ukrainian citizen, has turned down the position of Head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

Subsequently, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko appointed Saakashvili as freelance adviser on foreign affairs.

Speaking to the Ukrainian media, the ex-President of Georgia noted that he plans to help Ukraine in the establishment of the anti-corruption bureau, and he will coordinate the supply of weapons to this country.

Mikheil Saakashvili added, however, that the adoption of Ukrainian citizenship is not a part of its overall strategy, and he definitely will return to Georgia.
