YEREVAN. – Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s claim, according to which President Serzh Sargsyan had offered him the position of the President, is laughable.
National Assembly Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, who is also spokesperson of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS, as he commented on Tsarukyan’s respective statement.
“The President’s and our speech at the meeting [Thursday] of our [RPA] board was aimed at [the fact] that, yes, we are speaking about being non-receptive. (…) We offer the man presidency of something else, [whereas] he imagines the presidency of the state,” Sharmazanov said, in particular.
To note, PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan had said in his remarks on Friday that President Sargsyan had offered him the presidency of Armenia in return for agreeing on the implementation of constitutional amendments and thereby contributing to the procreation of the incumbent authorities. Tsarukyan, however, noted that he had turned down this offer.
