YEREVAN. – Prosperous Armenia has canceled a nationwide rally that was previously planned for  February 20.

The statement issued by the party said the Yerevan Municipality had not authorized the event, and this creates illegal obstacles to holding the rally on February 20 in Liberty Square.
 
“Given extremely nervous situation in the society, in order to avoid possible provocations and clashes, political council decided to cancel a meeting scheduled for February 20. As a result of political consultations by all lawful means, we will find political solutions to overcome this situation and to protect the interests of society,” the statement reads.
