Armenian National Assembly (NA) Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov on Thursday met, in the Austrian capital city of Vienna, with Zuzka Bebarová-Rujbrová, Chairwoman of the Committee on Petitions of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic.
The parties discussed the details of the NA deputy chairman’s scheduled visit to the Czech Republic in March.
Separately, Bebarová-Rujbrová reconfirmed the holding of an Armenian Genocide exhibition in her country, and Sharmazanov expressed his gratitude in this regard. In his words, the Czech Republic, with this step, has reaffirmed that it is an advocate of human rights, since this exhibition aims to defend human rights. As per the NA vice-speaker, unless the entire international community recognizes the Armenian Genocide and considers it as the greatest evil committed against humanity, the possibility of new genocides has not yet been ruled out.
To note, Eduard Sharmazanov is in Vienna within the framework of the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA).
