YEREVAN. – The leadership of Armenian penitentiary system met with Judy Smith, director of Oshkosh Correctional Institution based in Wisconsin, and security director Mark Weisgerber.

Arthur Osikyan, head of correctional department at the Armenian Justice Ministry, presented legislative reforms in this field, noting that they had thoroughly studied the experience of American colleagues in terms of management of correctional institutions.

In turn, Judy Smith shared her impressions from visiting Armavir penitentiary. According to her, the prison staff who had undergone trainings in Wisconsin perform their duties flawlessly.
