YEREVAN. – Vice Speaker of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov met with his Latvian counterparts Vice Speakers of Seimas Inese Libina-Egner and Gundars Daudge and Secretary of the parliament Andrey Klementyev.

During the meeting, Sharmazanov stressed importance of further strengthening of Armenia-Latvia bilateral ties as well as cooperation within international parliamentary platforms.

Speaking about Armenia-Turkey relations, Sharmazanov condemned official Ankara's policy and pointed out Turkey's continuous denial policy towards the Armenian Genocide. He expressed hope that Latvia will send a high level representative to the events marking centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

Sharmazanov thanked Latvian lawmakers for their help in organization of an exhibition dedicated to the Armenian Genocide in Latvia's National Library.
