YEREVAN. – Armenia's Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan on Monday received Vice President of of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Wilhelm Molterer.
Welcoming the guest, Prime Minister Sargsyan noted importance of Armenia-EU collaboration, adding that Armenia is ready to develop cooperation on economy, reforms, good governance, development of democracy and human rights.
Prime Minister appreciated the financial support of EIB provided for the development of infrastructure and support for small and medium businesses. He singled out as especially important the programs in the fields of transport and energy sectors, including infrastructure to link the Eastern Partnership countries with the Trans-European networks of the European Union.
In particular, the sides noted the importance of the North-South Road Corridor and Caucasus Transmission Network that are co-financed by the bank.
In turn, Vice President of the European Investment Bank Wilhelm Molterer stressed that the European Investment Bank is interested in expanding their activities in Armenia. Bank priorities are in line with those that had been outlined by the Armenian authorities, he added.
