YEREVAN. – The phase of uncertainty in relations between Armenia and European Union after accession to the Eurasian Economic Union has been overcome confidently, head of European Integration NGO Karen Bekaryan said.

The recently adopted resolutions of the European institutions (European People's Party, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly Euronest), as well as the final document adopted by the EU - Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee expressed readiness to develop relations and in no way to put them dependent on the situation, Bekaryan said.

“In May, the Eastern Partnership summit will be held in Riga, and on the eve of the summit the stage of consultation between the negotiating parties has ended,” the analyst said. 

Referring to the expectations of the Riga Summit, a political scientist drew attention to the need for a mandate for the EU negotiating team to secure the contractual and legal framework for cooperation with Armenia.

“From our negotiating team, we expect expanding and deepening the scope of cooperation with the EU,” he concluded.
