The Armenian party is confident that the precepts and elements, which are reflected in the six statements by the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries (US, Russia, and France), and the document, based on which negotiations are underway with the Azerbaijani party for more than seven years, are an acceptable basis for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

President Serzh Sargsyan noted the above-said speaking to the “Opinion” program on Russia-24, a state-owned TV news channel in Russia.

Sargsyan recalled that the co-chairs’ mutual compromise view is that the aforementioned precepts and elements are united as one.

The President stressed that those engaged in this matter do not doubt that Azerbaijan is the cause for the escalation of the tension.

Serzh Sargsyan also reminded that Nagorno-Karabakh was compelled to create a security zone to protect itself from the daily Azerbaijani shootings toward the Armenian-populated villages.

At the same time, the President noted that if Azerbaijan resorts to another adventurism, the Armenians will not be afraid to combat.
