The Armenian and Russian Foreign Ministers, Edward Nalbandian and Sergei Lavrov, plan to discuss the course of implementation of the agreements which the presidents of the two countries have reached.

“There exist between the two countries topical issues about bilateral relations, Eurasian integration, union relations within the framework of the CSTO [i.e. the Collective Security Treaty Organization], and current relations within the platforms of international organizations,” Lavrov said.

Nalbandian, for his part, noted that Wednesday’s meeting in Moscow between the two FMs is a good opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues, reported TASS news agency of Russia.

“This is both an economic cooperation and a parliamentary gauging. The defense ministries [of Armenia and Russia] are successfully cooperating,” he said, and added: “We will make use of this situation to exchange our views on regional matters, and of course, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process.”

In addition, Edward Nalbandian and Sergei Lavrov will discuss the preparations for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming expected visit to Armenia.

“He [i.e. Putin] will participate in the [commemoration] events devoted to the Armenian Genocide Centennial,” Nalbandian noted. “[And] in May, the presidents of the two countries will meet also in Moscow, [and] along the lines of the events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of victory [in the Great Patriotic War].”
