YEREVAN. – One hundred symbolic trees were planted in the garden of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, and in the lead-up to the Armenian Genocide Centennial.

NA President Galust Sahakyan planted one of the trees, and the MPs planted dozens of other saplings.

“This [tree planting] refers to us all, since we all want to create the message of continuing the hope, will, and life of our [Armenian] nation, and the strength of historical recollection,” Sahakyan stated. “There is no Armenian to whose family and lineage this one-hundred-year-old tragedy does not apply; its memory is vivid in our soul.”
