The Armenian Selina Özuzun Doğan, who has been proposed as a candidate by Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) made a bold statement with regard to the Armenian Genocide which took place in 1915.  

When asked about her opinion concerning the 1915 events, the Istanbul-based Armenian answered that the tragedy which took place in 1915 continues even now.

“Persecutions continue and will not stop meanwhile the denial policy is run. On April 24 I will be in the Taksim Square and take part in the morning event,” the Turkish website  Internethaber reports.

Lawyer Selina Özuzun Doğan has been named by the CHP in the first place for Istanbul’s second constituency in the upcoming June 7 elections.

Born in 1977, Özuzun is married and has two children. She works at a law firm. Besides Armenian and Turkish, she also speaks English and French.
