YEREVAN. – Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian, who is in Rome on an official visit and as a part of the President Serzh Sargsyan-led delegation, on Friday met with Paolo Gentiloni, the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The two FMs conferred on the steps being taken to develop bilateral relations, informed the Armenia MFA press service.

Nalbandian presented his Italian counterpart the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations to be held in Armenia and throughout the world. In this context, he thanked Italy for coauthoring the genocide prevention resolution, which Armenia has introduced at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

Armenia-European Union (EU) cooperation also was on the agenda of the meeting.

In addition, the Armenian and Italian FMs reflected on urgent regional and international issues. Edward Nalbandian also briefed Paolo Gentiloni on the joint the efforts by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to achieve a solely peaceful settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
