The Azerbaijani judicial process against Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) citizen Arsen Baghdasaryan, who has fallen captive in Azerbaijan, is in progress in this country.
The trial is held at the serious crimes’ court in Ganja city, Haqqin.az news agency of Azerbaijan reported citing the Kəpəz TV of the country.
The Azerbaijani soldiers who had captured the NKR citizen also are attending the trial.
As per the news agency, Baghdasaryan has been provided with an interpreter and an attorney.
During the preliminary hearing, which was held on April 7, the state prosecutor had brought charges against the NKR citizen, and pursuant to twelve articles in the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
But these charges are so fabricated that the trial is held behind closed doors.
To note, the case brought against Arsen Baghdasaryan is also a vivid illustration of Azerbaijan’s violation of international human rights. The Azerbaijani authorities had not permitted the International Committee of the Red Cross representatives to see him for 1.5 months since his capture. Baghdasaryan was taken into Azerbaijan captivity on December 26 of the year past.
