YEREVAN. - The process of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide is gaining new momentum, Armenian Parliament Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov told Armenian News – NEWS.am, commenting on the European Parliament’s adoption of the resolution on Armenian Genocide.

“This document - adopted by the European Parliament – is of unprecedented importance. It again comes to prove that the European civilization condemns the Armenian Genocide, and denounces Turkey’s denial policy,” Sharmazanov said.   

According to him, this has recently been the seventh resolution adopted by the European structures. “This implies that the process of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide is gaining new momentum and that the European parliament not only condemns, but also urges the parliaments of European states to acknowledge and condemn the Armenian Genocide,” the Vice-Speaker stated, adding that this was a serious blow to Turkey’s denial policy, a blow against false arguments. This is another fact that the 1915 events qualify as genocide.
