OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs plan to visit the region in the near future, Co-Chair James Warlick told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent in Washington.
Commenting on the results of last week's meeting with President Serzh Sargsyan in Washington, Warlick said possible ways of settlement of the Karabakh conflict were discussed.
The Co-Chairs always use any opportunity to meet with President Sargsyan and President Aliyev, and during visits to the region, with the de facto authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh, the diplomat said. According to him, the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are willing to intensify talks.
The Minsk Group Co-Chair added that the date of a meeting of presidents is not yet determined, but both presidents expressed a desire to intensify the dialogue.
“We will soon visit the region to prepare the meeting of presidents,” he added.
The diplomat believes all parties wish to achieve a peaceful settlement.
“I believe that President Aliyev and President Sargsyan want to find a negotiated solution to the conflict. This conflict has been going on for too long and claimed too many lives. We want to see this come to an end,” the diplomat added.
