YEREVAN. - Armenia’s PM Hovik Abrahamyan today received Gabriela Cuevas Barron, the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate of Mexico.
Hovik Abrahamyan welcomed Ms Barron’s visit to Armenia and expressed confidence that it will contribute to the development and expansion of the Armenian-Mexican relations. He said that Armenia is interested in deepening its cooperation with Mexico in political, economic, cultural and other spheres.
The PM attached importance to the activation of the interparliamentary ties also in the framework of international organizations. He expressed confidence that the operation of the recently opened Armenian Embassy in Mexico will also contribute to the organization of joint business forums with the aim of activating the business ties.
Gabriela Cuevas said that Mexico attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with Armenia, expressing confidence that the Memoranda of Understanding signed between the parliaments of two countries will give a new impetus to the activation of the interstate relations.
The interlocutors also touched on regional problems. In that context, Ms Barron noted that Mexico stands exclusively for the peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and supports the effort of the OSCE Minsk Group in that matter.
