Armenia's Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with his Czech counterpart Bohuslav Sobotka during his official visit to Prague.

The talks between the prime ministers was followed by a meeting in an extended format.

Czech PM expressed confidence that relations between the countries have entered a new stage, adding that the state visit of President Serzh Sargsyan to the Czech Republic has contributed greatly to the improvement of bilateral relations.

Armenian PM for his part hailed high level political dialogue between the states, adding that economic relations are still far behind the level of political relations, and efforts should be made to fully use the existing potential. PM outlined sectors perspective in terms of the further expansion of cooperation, among them agriculture, energy, tourism, healthcare, IT, culture and education.

The business forum in Prague will create new opportunities and will help in the opening of new markets for the Armenian and Czech businessmen. Armenia's Prime Minister noted importance of direct air link between Yerevan and Prague and underscored importance of the reopening of direct flights.

Mr. Sobotka also underscored importance of further intensification of the economic relations. In terms of development of EU-Armenia cooperation, the head of Czech Cabinet highlighted visa facilitation between Armenia and EU member states.

The Prime Ministers noted importance of efficient work of intergovernmental commission as well as that of trade chambers.

The officials touched upon regional problems, peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict. The Czech PM expressed his country's support for the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs' efforts, peaceful resolution of the conflict based on international principles, nations' right to self-determination and territorial integrity.

Armenia-EU and Armenian-Eurasian Union cooperation was also on the agenda.

The Armenian official invited his Czech counterpart to pay an official visit to Armenia.

A meeting in extended format was followed by signing of cooperation agreement. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Armenia's Tavush Region and Hradec Karlove Region.

Armenian Prime Minister answered reporters' questions. An official dinner was given in honor of the Armenia's Prime Minister.
