YEREVAN. – Japan’s first resident Ambassador to Armenia, Eiji Taguchi, on Wednesday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated Ambassador Taguchi on assuming this office, and stressed that it is a huge honor and responsibility to be the first resident ambassador. Sargsyan also wished success to the new Japanese ambassador in his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The President noted with delight that a positive dynamics is observed in the development of Armenia-Japan relations, and expressed the hope that the activities by Japan’s newly opened embassy in Armenia will contribute to maintaining this dynamics.

Sargsyan also recalled with warmth his visit to Japan in 2012, and his productive meetings in this country.

Ambassador Taguchi, for his part, assured that he will make every effort to maintain the progress in bilateral state relations, and to deepen cooperation and the contacts aimed at mutual understanding.

At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors underscored the enhancement of collaboration between parliaments, close contacts between the foreign ministries, and the expansion and improvement of the bilateral legal framework.
