YEREVAN. – The eleventh Aram Khachaturian International Violin Competition starts in Yerevan on Saturday, June 6, the birthday of the great composer.

During 11 years the competition achieved great international recognition and this is proved by the participants who came from 17 countries, chairman of the board of directors Armen Smbatyan said during a media conference on Saturday.

The jury selected 25 violists out of 60 applications with five of them representing Armenia.

Chairman of the Jury Eduard Tadevosyan stressed that competition is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions.
