Three Armenian candidates, who were nominated by three different political parties, have been elected into parliament in Sunday’s Grand National Assembly election in Turkey.

Istanbul Armenian journalist Markar Esayan—who was nominated by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP)—, Istanbul Armenian woman Selina Ozuzun Dogan—who was nominated by the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP)—, and Istanbul Armenian activist Garo Paylan—who was nominated by the pro-Kurdish “Peoples’ Democratic Party” (HDP)—have become members of the Turkish parliament, reported Milliyet daily of Turkey.

As a result, the Turkish Grand National Assembly again will have Armenian MPs after 54 years.
