YEREVAN. – According to official data from the National Statistical Service of Armenia, a 0.5-percent deflation has been recorded in the country in May, as compared to April. 

In this case, the twelve-month inflation amounted to 5.1 percent at the end of the month.

The deflation continued in the external sector, informed the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA).

Positive developments in agriculture continued in the country’s domestic economy. Accordingly, the prices of food products dropped by 1.2 percent in May. 

As a result, inflation rate in Armenia remains within the CBA forecast, and it gradually stabilizes around the target indicator.
