The second staff talks for preparation and holding of the “Indestructible Brotherhood 2015” military exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Collective Peacekeeping Forces, which will be conducted in Armenia, continued Wednesday at the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia.
First Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, informed those in attendance that the Armenian MOD received an official letter from the United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General Hervé Ladsous, who heads the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations. According to the letter, the department representatives’ participation—as observers—in the planned military drills has been approved.
Tonoyan also expressed satisfaction in connection with collaboration established between the MOD of Armenia and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). He especially underscored the ICRC representatives’ participation in the talks and actual military exercises.
The aforementioned staff talks will wrap up on Thursday.
