YEREVAN. – The Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched a criminal case into the death of soldier Edgar Melkonyan.
According to preliminary data, military unit serviceman, Private Edgar Melkonyan self inflicted a fatal gunshot wound on Thursday at around 1:33am, in a military position under protection of the aforesaid unit, reported the committee.
The criminal case is opened pursuant to the Criminal Code article on causing suicide.
An investigation is underway.
