YEREVAN. - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, on Monday received special envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Xiao Siding, who was China’s First Ambassador to Armenia.
Nalbandian considered it symbolic that China’s first ambassador to Armenia is visiting Armenia this time as the Chinese MFA special envoy. He also underscored that the ambassador still contributes to the strengthening of Armenian-Chinese friendship.
Ambassador Xiao Siding, for his part, conveyed to Nalbandian Chinese FM Wang Yi’s greetings, and noted that he is happy to be back in Armenia.
The interlocutors appreciated the dynamically developing Armenia-China relations. They also noted that the Armenian President’s state visit to China in March gave a new impetus to bilateral cooperation.
Separately, Nalbandian thanked China for its continuous assistance to Armenia.
The parties exchanged views on collaboration within international organizations.
Edward Nalbandian also spoke about the ongoing efforts to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this context, Ambassador Xiao Siding reaffirmed China’s support to the efforts aimed at the peaceful settlement of this conflict.
