YEREVAN. – The government limited the average salary in the Electric Networks of Armenia, inherent in the electricity tariff. representative of Public Services Regulatory Commission Garegin Baghramyan said.
The company asks to pay through the tariff for electricity, the average salary of 240,000 drams (at the current rate $505).
Nevertheless, Baghramyan said, said the mentioned amount is related to the energy sector only, while the calculation should be based on the national average salary. In January-April 2015 in the public sector it amounted to 179,000 drams, and in private – 212,500.
“For this reason, we decided to retain in the electricity tariff an average salary of 200,000 drams,” Baghramyan said.
The Public Services Regulatory Commission plans to increase the price of electricity for Armenia’s residents by 6.93 drams—instead of 17 drams, proposed by the Electric Networks—, per cubic meter.
