YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Health of Armenia released a statement according to which, on Tuesday, Karine Hovhannisyan, 4, a resident of Jrashen village, was admitted to the infection ward of the Armavir city medical center.
The little girl was deemed to be in average critical condition, with an initial diagnosis of acute intestinal infection, and she received appropriate treatment.
On the evening of the same day, however, the child’s condition had worsened. She was transferred to the hospital’s intensive care unit, where the specialists took relevant measures, but the little girl could not be saved.
The cause of her death has not yet been officially announced, and a forensic medical examination is conducted.
The Investigative Committee press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that a report is being prepared on Hovhannisyan’s death.
The child’s relatives, however, blame the head of the hospital’s infection ward for the child’s death.
